Our Board and Train Program
During this stay, your dog will receive intensive, personalized training sessions tailored to their specific needs and behavioral issues. This might include basic obedience commands like sit, stay, and heel, as well as more complex skills or problem behaviors. Your dog will also learn socialization skills with other dogs and people. Your dog will return to you with improved behavior and better obedience, making them easier to manage and enhancing the bond between you. This leads to a more harmonious household and a happier, healthier relationship with your pet.
Program Details
Our world-class dog training experts provide three different board and train options:
2-week program: This program includes everything in the one-week program plus public obedience so that you can take your dog to parks, stores, vacation, crowded areas, and be able to maintain control over your dog. For ensuring calm behaviors in high-distraction areas as well as obedience issues such as jumping on people or dog aggression problems, this program is designed to address those issues.
3-week program: You will get everything in the one and 2-week training programs plus introduce the dog to advanced obedience skills such as off-leash obedience and duration commands (getting your dog to perform a task for a long time). For example, if you want to take your dog to a pet-friendly restaurant, you can give a command and know that your dog remains in its place (extended sit) for the entirety of your meal.
We also introduce the dog to the E-collar so the owner and the dog can have clear communication skills.

All dog training is started in a low-distraction, calm environment in the home. The board and train experts at K9aholics gradually build up distractions inside before working our way up to low distractions outside. Finally, we finish with high distractions outside.
K9aholics offers pick-ups and drop-offs for your dog. We will provide updates and pictures throughout the board and train program, so you can always check up on the progress of your furry friend.
If you live locally in Virginia Beach, there will be one in-person follow-up session to teach you what we trained the dog and how to continue dog obedience training. If you do not live locally in Virginia Beach, there will be two video sessions as a follow-up to ensure the board and train program is still working for your dog.
The ultimate goal is for the owner to continue training following the conclusion of our basic obedience curriculum.
